Prof. Ehud Davidson, CEO of Clalit Health Services, announced the appointement of Dr. Efrat Bron-Harlev as the new Director of Schneider Children's, which will take effect at the beginning of October 2020.
Dr. Bron-Harlev, mother of 4, specialist in Pediatrics, Intensive Care, and Health Administration, is a graduate of Ben Gurion University of the Negev. She holds an MA in Public Health from Harvard University in the USA. She has been employed by Clalit since 1994 and has served in a number of posts including Director of the Beilinson Campus, Deputy Director of Schneider Children's, and Medical Director of Clalit's Northern District.
Dr. Bron-Harlev stated that "I am proud, happy and excited to return home to Schneider Children's and to head the leading pediatric hospital in Israel which aims to provide advanced, professional, creative and cutting-edge care alongside dedicated and top-rate services by our multidisciplinary expert teams, who believe in the values of brotherhood, recovery and helping others. This closes the circle for me. I began at Schneider as a young resident whose dream came true to become a pediatrician in the best place in the field, and now I am returning to lead it forward.
Dr. Bron-Harlev will take over from Prof. Joseph Press, who is retiring after having served as the Director of Schneider Children's for the past 12 years. During Prof. Press's tenure as CEO, the hospital marked tremendous growth and he actively promoted joint research, professional exchange and training links with important international medical centers, spurred Schneider Children's to greater excellence in many fields, established the Research Authority, and initiated the construction of a new building for the hospital.
