A Wedding and a Contribution
The Neonatal Department at Schneider Medical Center needs to be upgraded and overhauled. In a tremendously generous gesture, Olivia and Dr. Ido Sirota dedicated their wedding gifts towards the refurbishment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the Neonatology Department at Schneider Children's.
The NICU is the largest and busiest such unit in Israel, and treats premature babies and neonates with complex medical problems who are referred from maternity wards all over the country. In order to maintain the high standard of care, the refurbishment of the NICU has become an urgent priority.
The NICU treats approximately 900 infants annually and occupancy frequently surpasses the 100% mark. It is clear that a comprehensive and immediate response is needed.
